Leaders Hear From Scientisis On Salton Sea’s Future

State, county, and local political leaders along with environmental scientists will meet today in Indian Wells.

They plan to discuss a solution for the Salton Sea before it dries up and creates an environmental and economic calamity.

The concern is over increasing salinity and dwindling water supply at our state?s largest lake.

One point of focus will be green energy — organizers want to explore alternative energy as a possible solution for successfully restoring the Salton Sea, including algae farming.

Speakers include Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack, and County Supervisors Marion Ashley and John Benoit.

The conference will be held from 7am to 3pm at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa.
