Palm Springs Police tell News Channel 3 roads in the area were closed off to keep traffic at a minimum, and make room for the fire crews.

No structures were threatened; however, this is an historic area of Palm Springs. Melvyn’s Restaurant is right across the street from where the fire was burning.

Fire investigators will now look at what caused the fire to spark.
