CHP Patrol Car Involved In Interstate 10 Crash

A California Highway Patrol officer only suffered cuts and bruises after an accident involving his patrol car on Interstate 10 Thursday morning.

The accident happened at 10:30am, and reduced the eastbound lane of the interstate to one lane, resulting in a long backup.

Witnesses say the officer was driving on the right shoulder going eastbound on the interstate when he lost control of the patrol car, hit a semi-truck, spun out, and hit the guardrail.

Paramedics transported the officer to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he reportedly is doing fine.
