Car Wash Held For Teen Shooting Victim

Friends and family members are holding a car wash today to raise funeral money for an Indio teenager who died when he accidentally shot himself in the head.

It happened Monday night at a home off Sierra Avenue. Fifteen-year-old Robert Salinas was rushed to the hospital.

He died Tuesday morning.

It’s unclear how Salinas got the gun, who owns it, or if it was loaded before he handled it.

The car wash started at 7am and will run until 5pm today at California Tire and Wheels on Clinton Street in Indio.
