Two Fires Hit Indio At Same Time Overnight
Fire crews are investigating two suspicious overnight brush fires in Indio.
Riverside county firefighters say one is on Avenue 50 at Madison, and the second is nearby on Avenue 49, west of Monroe.
Both were reported around the same time this morning at 3am.
The fire on Avenue 50 involved brush and palm trees, and was the smaller of the two.
The fire on Avenue 49 involved a large tamarisk grove, and firefighters say they have to bring in their bulldozer to help in the extensive mop up. They hope to have it all cleaned up by noon.
There?s no word on a cause.
