Cabazon Woman Arrested For Drugs; Child Taken Into Protective Custody
A Cabazon woman was arrested at her home today on suspicion cocaine and methamphetamine possession, and a boy was taken into protective custody, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
Maria Beltran Enriquez, 42, was arrested as deputies searched her home in the 49000 block of Carmen Avenue about 7:30 a.m. as part of a drug investigation, sheriff’s Sgt. James Burton said.
The boy, whose age was unavailable, was turned over Child Protective Services, he said.
It was unclear what led police to get a warrant to search to place.
Enriquez was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of cocaine and child endangerment.
