One Toddler Dies In Pool Drowning; Another Sent To Loma Linda

A 16-month-old girl has died after drowning in a pool in Palm Desert.

It happened in the Vista Paseo gated community.

A family member found her at 2:43pm, and pulled her out of the pool. Paramedics performed CPR until Cal Fire arrived, and took her to Eisenhower Medical Center.

The report comes soon after a similar report across town on McCallum Way in Cathedral City, just east of Date Palm. In that case, Cathedral City police tell News Channel 3 a 22-month-old boy was pulled from the pool, and taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs.

Police tell News Channel 3 the pool was surrounded by a 4-foot chain link fence, which was gated. Family members say they don’t know how the child got into the pool area.

He was breathing when he left the home in an ambulance.

He was later transferred to Loma Linda Medical Center in Redlands.
