East Valley Man Hit By Freight Train

An east valley man is recovering after a freight train hit him, last night.

It happened at 8:45pm along Airport Boulevard and Highway 111.

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies say a man in his late 40s to early 50s was conscious when police and firefighters arrived.

Amazingly, deputies say he only suffered minor injuries.

Still, Airport Boulevard was shut down while the train was stopped.

People trying to get into Thermal off of Highway 86 were detoured.

The line was eventually cleared, and the road is back open today.
