Four People Tied Up Overnight In Home Invasion Robbery

Two men kicked in the front door of an Indio home, tied up four people and stole a pickup truck today, but no one was hurt, police said.

The home invasion robbery was reported at 4:21 a.m. in the 47900 block of Austin Drive, near Avenue 48, said Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.

Two men dressed in ski masks and dark clothing entered the home armed with handguns, confronted the residents and tied up four males, Guitron said.

The bandits stole a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck, which was found at 9:45 a.m. on Albion Drive at Margarita Street, he said.

Residents recognized the red pickup from news reports and called police, but no one was in the truck, which was in good condition, according to Guitron.

Nothing else was taken from the home.
