Accused Desert Hot Springs Gunman To Appear In Court
A teenager is scheduled to appear in court, today, to answer to charges he gunned down a man in a Desert Hot Springs parking lot.
Authorities said back in October, Anthony Magdaleno, 19, shot Tony Chen, 45, at the Von?s store on Palm Drive.
Witnesses said Magdaleno and Chen spoke for less than a minute before Chen was shot in the head.
A confrontation took place and Chen was shot.
The suspect ran from the scene passing back in front of Von?s, and in between McDonald?s and Del Taco and towards Palm Drive.
After the shooting, witnesses told police Magdaleno crossed Palm and approached someone on a pay phone near the main entrance to K-Mart.
He demanded that person?s keys, saying he needed a car. He refused.
Magdaleno was tracked down as short time later.
