Two Brothers Arrested For Trying To Run Over Man

Two brothers with apparent gang ties face charges in Cathedral City for allegedly trying to run over a man with their truck, a police sergeant said today.

Emmanuel “Manuel” Sanudo, 19, and his 16-year-old brother, both of Cathedral City, were arrested Friday afternoon near Mission and San Antonio drives, according to Cathedral City police Sgt. Corwin de Veas.

The brothers are suspected in the assault, reported at 5:17 p.m. Sunday near the 32700 block of Aurora Vista Road, de Veas said.

A witness told police the two brothers drove their truck onto a sidewalk and attempted to run over the victim as they yelled their monikers and gang affiliation at him.

The elder Sanudo brother was being held at the Indio Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. No information was released about the younger brother, a juvenile.
