Gunshot Victim Treated After Party Shooting In La Quinta

An 18-year-old Indio man was shot at a party in La Quinta, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said today.

The shooting was reported about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at a home in the 52000 block of Avenida Carranza, said Sgt. John Crounse of the La Quinta Police Department.

Witnesses told officers they saw a male wearing dark clothing fire several shots with a small-caliber firearm, Crounse said. He was last seen walking north on Avenida Carranza.

Officers learned just after midnight that a gunshot victim from the party was being treated at John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Indio for non- life threatening injuries, the sergeant said. The man’s name was not released.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call police at (760) 863-8990.
