Driver Killed In Palm Springs Crash With Utility Truck

Palm Springs police confirm the driver of a BMW was killed Tuesday morning in a crash with a Verizon utility truck.

The crash happened around 9:40 a.m., at the intersection of Dinah Shore and Crossley in Palm Springs.

Palm Springs police investigators tell News Channel 3 the BMW was going northbound on Crossley, ran a red light, and hit a Verizon utility truck going east on Dinah Shore.

Police and emergency crews shut down an area around the accident, and re-opened them at 3:45 p.m.

Access to all residential streets west of Cathedral Canyon was closed, and some area residents were asked to use alternate routes to access residential streets.

The identity of the 73-year-old driver is being withheld until his or her family is notified.
