More Than 175 Still Without Power In Palm Desert

More than 12 hours after the power first went out, Southern California Edison is still working to restore power to the remaining few hit by a power outage overnight.

SCE crews say the power went off at 2:06 a.m., affecting 1,235 customers in Indian Wells and Palm Desert.

Power was restored to all but 176 customers at 4:13 p.m.

The outage hit on a day when a heat warning was put into effect by the National Weather Service.

SCE blames equipment failure.

The outage area affects people living north of Grapevine, south of Marakesh, east of Portolla and west of El Hasson Drive.
