Wal Mart Worker Accused Of Stealing Cash From Register

Palm Springs police arrested a Desert Hot Springs woman, accused of taking more than $400 from the cash register of the Palm Springs Wal Mart.

A police spokeswoman says Brandi Renee Kole, 37, of Desert Hot Springs, was arrested on suspicion of felony embezzlement, forgery, burglary and conspiracy charges.

Sgt. Melissa Desmarais said, “[Kole] took money in excess of $400 from the cash register over a period of several months, knowingly accepted counterfeit money, and made purchases of multiple items on which she had changed tags on in order to pay less for the item than it was worth.”

The exact amount she stole is still being investigated.

Kole’s bail is set at $5,000. She is due in court on Friday.
