Small Brush Fire Created A Lot Of Smoke In Coachella

Cal Fire and Riverside County fire crews contained a vegetation fire along Highway 86 and Dillon Road in Coachella on Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out at 3:02 p.m., according to Cheri Patterson with the Riverside County Fire Department.

Fire crews report one acre burned, but the fire created a lot of smoke that drivers could see from the 86 Expressway.

The fire is contained, but more equipment was brought in to make sure there were no more hot spots.

Dillon Road was closed between Highway 86 and Cabazon Road.
