Coachella Subway Robbed At Gunpoint

A gunman robbed a Coachella eatery today, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The robbery at Subway, 49965 Harrison St., was reported at 9:28 a.m., sheriff’s Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela said.

The bandit entered the business, took out a handgun and fled with an undisclosed sum of cash, Valenzuela said.

The suspect was described as black, in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and around 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a two-toned, long sleeved, brown shirt with light blue jeans and a hat.

A man matching the description was seen riding a moped in the area about 45 minutes before the robbery, but it was not clear if the man was the robbery suspect, Valenzuela said.
