Car Wreck Shuts Down Roads, Injures Woman
A woman was injured today when the PT Cruiser she was driving went off a road in Palm Springs and slammed into a light pole, police said.
The crash occurred about 12:15 today on South Palm Canyon Drive at East Mesquite Avenue. The car sent the light pole crashing down into the road, blocking all lanes and exposing high-voltage live wires, said Palm Springs police Lt. Dennis Graham.
The woman, who was the only person in the car, was hospitalized in unknown condition.
The intersection was re-opened later in the evening when the pole is was fixed, Graham said.
