Cathedral City Police Hunt For Carjacking Suspects

Two men who stole a four-door sedan at gunpoint in Cathedral City were at large today, police said.

The carjacking was reported at 10:10 p.m. Monday in the area of Rancho Vista Drive and Via Olivera, according to Sgt. Carl Wolford of the Cathedral City Police Department.

Two men were working on a 1982 Toyota Carolla when two suspects, one of them armed with a handgun, demanded the keys to the car and the victims’ property, Wolford said.

The suspects got into the sedan and drove off, the sergeant said. The license plate of the vehicle is 1EGG307.

The men were described as 18-20 years old with shaved heads. One of the bandits was skinny and the other was heavyset. Anyone with information about the carjacking was asked to call police at (760) 770-0300.
