Palm Desert Begins Interviewing Possible City Council Replacement

Current city council members in the city of Palm Desert begin a three-day round of interviews on Monday.

They will try to decide if one of the 25 applicants will take the seat left vacant by the passing of Council Member Dick Kelly, or if it will go to a special election.

The 25 applicants for the Palm Desert City Council include:

William Bruce Cams, Roger Evans Dash, Peter Joseph Kozlak, Fred R. Beford, Gayle Elizabeth Moore, Thomas Dexter Mortensen, Lenard Martin Stuessel, Sonia M. Campbell, Stephanie M Loog, John Robert Kingston, Robert Dupre, Rebecca Ellin Kenary, David A. Paradine, Marcy Sue Gregory, Carole Beth Schaudt, Jan Constance Harnik, Alan Blair Schiff, William Ralph Kroonen, Mary Helen Kelly, Michael Bernard Rover, Mari Schmidt, Donald Lincoln England, Larry M. Grotbeck, Scott McPherran Kiner and Richard Emery Lebel, Sr.

All of the interviews will take place Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Council members will announce their decision on Monday on whether to choose one of the applicants to take the seat, or to hold a special election.
