Small Business Owners Seek Answers In Economy

With the economy still limping along local small business owners were invited to a seminar Wednesday in La Quinta that just might help them survive the economic downturn.

The seminar was part of a legislative summit hosted by the La Quinta, Palm Desert and Indio Chambers of Commerce.

Experts were on hand to talk about the best ways to acquire business capital as well as what tax credits and other benefits are available to small businesses.

“At the end of the day the recovery of the State of California is going to be based on the recovery of our small businesses and small businesses are the back bone of the economy and we need to make sure they’re successful,” said Manuel Perez, Assemblyman for the 80th District.

Manual Perez as well as fellow Assemblyman Brian Nestande, Senator Bill Emmerson and County Supervisor Marion Ashley all attended a luncheon in conjunction with the summit.

News Channel 3’s Tamara Damante moderated a question and answer session with the legislators that focused on the economic forecast.
