Cesar gets his passion for news and sports from his father who taught him the importance of international awareness and showing your team pride.

Cesar has more than three years experience of news reporting. He was a finalist for ESPN Deportes: “El Reportero” and later a freelance reporter for Telemundo-Chicago and Impre-Media. He was a reporter for the Chicago White Sox and has collaborated with ESPN Deportes.com. Before starting his career in journalism career, he was a policy advisor for the Illinois Lieutenant Governor and a public relations assistant at Si Communications, working for the Chicago City Clerk, Illinois State Senate and the Illinois Hispanic Caucus.

Cesar says one of the most important stories he’s covered was human trafficking in California. It gave him the opportunity to inform viewers that slavery still exists and affects men, women and children from all walks of life.

Cesar was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He is excited to be in California and glad to leave the snow boots behind and enjoy the warm winters. Cesar received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and he studied abroad in Mexico. He’s a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

During his free time, Cesar enjoys following sports, reading, working out, and spending time with “la familia” and friends.
