Accident Shuts Down Lanes on I-10

An accident at 7:40 pm shut down all lanes Eastbound on the I-10 in Banning.

Traffic was slow in the area for several hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A vehicle broke down on the side of the road, and may have been the cause of a chain reaction accident.

Four or five vehicles were involved including a work truck that burst into flames.

CHP confirms that several people were taken to the hospital.

All lanes were re-opened later in the evening.

The conditions of the injured are not known.
