Cal Tech Repositions Morning Earthquake

This morning’s 3.5 magnitude earthquake that reportedly struck the area near Borrego Springs was actually misdirected by Cal Tech Seismologists.

The quake that struck at 12:18 this morning was actually a 4.7 quake in Baja California.

According to Cal Tech the initial reading came in from the Borrego Springs area, but after further mapping realized the actual quake was on the Baja Peninisula.

There were no reports of damage or injuries from the quake and no reports of the quake being felt here in the Coachella Valley.
