Power Outage Hits Palm Desert

Nearly 1,100 Southern California Edison customers lost power this afternoon in Palm Desert.

The outage was reported at 1:41 p.m. in an area bordered by Palm Desert Drive to the north, Grapevine Street to the south and Toro Peak Road to the east, according to Edison spokeswoman Vanessa McGrady.

The cause of the outage was not immediately known, she said.

Temperatures in the early afternoon hovered around 90-degrees.
