Los Angeles Reaches All-Time Record High Temperature

The National Weather Service says downtown Los Angeles has recorded an all-time record high of 113 degrees as a heat wave bakes California.

Weather forecaster Stuart Seto says the record high was reached about 15 minutes after noon Monday.

The old record was 112 degrees on June 26, 1990.

At the same time, the temperature in the Palm Springs area was barely 100-degrees.

California has been in the grip of a heat wave since high pressure built over the West late last week.
