One Person Shot At Thermal Rave

Police are investigating an overnight shooting at a rave party in Thermal.

It happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday morning on the 54000 block of Tyler Street in Thermal.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call of shots fired. When they arrived, they found one person suffering from a gunshot wound.

Jeremy McCollister who witnessed the shooting said, “There was a guy that was wearing all black with a red hat, and I guess he got in an argument with one of the guys at the rave and he shot them. He shot him on the upper thigh with a .22.”

Emergency crews took the 18-year-old victim to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he is expected to survive.

The suspect then left the party, stealing a car at gunpoint in the process. That car was found on fire around 5 a.m. Sunday, just outside of Beaumont.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between the ages of 19 and 25-years-old. He is about 5’8″ with a stocky build and light colored facial hair.

Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
