Palm Desert Council Candidate Drops Out Of Race

Newschannel 3 confirmed on Tuesday that Palm Desert City Council candidate Jim McIntosh announced he is withdrawing from the November 2 Election.

Instead of running for the position, he has endorsed a former opponent, Jan Harnik.

His name will still appear on all ballots for the election.

He said he made the decision two weeks ago after discovering that Harnik was running on the same platform which included more transparency in city government.

Harnik along with 4 other candidates are vying for two seats currently held by Jean Benson, and Jim Ferguson. Both are running for re-election.
