Search Underway For Missing Hiker In Joshua Tree

Searchers are combing an area of Joshua Tree National Park for a Culver City man who has been missing since Friday after he failed to return from a hike.

The National Park Service said Monday that 64-year-old Edward Rosenthal was reported missing to park rangers on Sunday afternoon.

Park spokesman Joe Zarki says rescuers are searching the wilderness area south of Black Rock Campground where Rosenthal is believed to have gone hiking on Friday.

Rosenthal is believed to be an experience hiker and in good physical condition.
