Searchers Target Black Rock Canyon For Missing Hiker

Searchers will fan out again through Joshua Tree National Park, looking for a prominent Los Angeles real estate broker who went on a hike and didn’t come back.

The search will continue Wednesday for 64-year-old Edward Rosenthal, an experienced hiker who failed to return as planned on Friday.

Park spokesman Joe Zarki says 50 searchers on foot and horseback will branch out to search more trails near Black Rock Canyon campground.

Zarki says nearby trails have been closed during the search but the campground remains open.

Rosenthal is known for brokering deals to sell historic downtown office and industrial buildings for conversion into condo or apartments.

The Culver City resident also has a reputation for writing short, humorous poems and reading them aloud at public events.
