Palm Springs Manhunt Places School On Lockdown

A burglary suspect was taken into custody today after a resident returned to a Palm Springs home and found the intruder inside, police reported.

The burglary was reported at 1:13 p.m. in the 3900 block of Calle De Carlos, said Officer Rhonda Long of the Palm Springs Police Department.

The suspect fled when the resident arrived home, Long said, prompting officers to begin a perimeter search. The suspect was arrested in the area following a brief foot pursuit, according to the officer.

During the brief time the suspect was at large, Cielo Vista Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a precaution, she said.
