Woman Killed In Crash On Rain Soaked Interstate 10

An 18-year-old woman, who was killed in a crash on eastbound Interstate 10 in Cabazon, was identified today as a Vista resident.

Eunice Torres was pronounced dead at 11:08 p.m. Thursday on the interstate west of Apache Trail, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

Torres was the passenger in a 2007 Nissan Sentra that crashed in the fast lane of the freeway during a downpour, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As she got out of the sedan to get an umbrella from the trunk, another driver lost control of a 2005 BMW. That sedan spun out and slammed into the Nissan, which then struck Torres, the CHP reported.
