Power Outage Hits Part of Palm Springs

More than 200 customers of Southern California Edison in the Palm Springs area will spend most of Monday without electricity, according to the power company.

The company’s website blames some underground cable that went bad.

The problem started shortly after 3 a.m. Monday in the area around Calle Encilia and Ramon.

Crews are working to replace the cables, which should take several hours.

SCE hopes to have the power back on by 6 p.m.

KESQ.com will update the progress crews make as we get it.
