Overnight Closures Of Interstate 10 Finished For Now

Construction crews building the new overpass at Bob Hope Drive in Thousand Palms said on Tuesday they do not need the interstate closed overnight anymore to complete their work.

The California Highway Patrol was notified earlier in the day that falsework crews built over the last few weeks was completed, and they could continue without interrupting traffic.

The next hurdle for drivers may be a few weeks in the future when the falsework, which is a temporary structure that helps crews work on large projects, is removed.

The Bob Hope overpass will replace the Ramon Road overpass, which studies have shown is too narrow for the population growth.

Gene Autry Trail/Palm Dr and Indian Canyon are also getting new overpasses all at the same time.
