4.0 Earthquake Rattles Area Near Borrego Springs

A 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit an area near Borrego Springs in Southern California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit at 10:58 a.m., and it was centered 10 miles southwest of Borrego Springs and 40 miles southwest of Palm Springs.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Several people reported feeling it in the Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Indio areas, but most of the shaking seemed to be concentrated in the San Diego area, according to the USGS.
