Man Arrested In Palm Desert Burglary May Be Tied To Others

Two people were in police custody after a homeowner walked in on a burglary in his home on Thursday, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Sgt. Randall Wedertz.

The resident walked in to find a man inside his home on the 45000 block of Quailbrush Street at 12:45 p.m. He subdued the suspect, suffering injuries to his head and face in the process.

Police arrived and arrested 32-year-old Gabriel Navarette at the home.

At the same time, witnesses told police they saw a while Pontiac speeding away from the home. Police followed leads to the 83000 block of Lupine Avenue in Indio, where they apprehended a possible accomplice.

That person’s name wasn’t made public.

Wedertz said he believes these two people may be responsible for several other burglaries around the Coachella Valley.

Navarette is facing several other charges, including several counts of residential burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
