Cathedral City Medical Clinic Evacuated After Electrical Short

An electrical short circuit prompted the evacuation of a medical clinic in Cathedral City on Thursday morning.

The Centro Medico, located in the Stater Bros shopping center at the corner of Ramon Road and Date Palm Drive, was evacuated around 10:45 a.m. after smoke started filling the facility along with the smell of burning electrical components.

No one was injured.

Cathedral City firefighters found the problem quickly and people were allowed back in a short time later.
