an early start with a crucial match-up in desert hot springs. yucca valley visting the d-h- s-h-s … the winner stays alive for a de anza league title — and pretty much locks up a playoff spot. how’s that for a set-up. d-h-s starting the second half in a big hole, down 21-zip — starting q-b jeremy ogden on the bench after bruising his ribs in the first.. that’s when you give it to this guy, fullback cody milspaugh — some nifty moves, then refusing to go down, a big gain for the golden eagles then, back up q- b, nolan hayes drops back and throws a jump ball. watch dillion matson, kids got bunnies in his feet. gimme that! 40 yard gain! more hayes — no fear, he punches it in on the q-b keeper. extra point blocked, 21-6 . now eagle “defense” steps up. alex diaz sniffs out the run, knocks his man down in the backfield. eagles get the ball back — milspaugh again, takes the handoff, jukes out of a tackle… then he’s doin the running man. — you can’t touch this — d-h-s down 21-12 after a failed 2 point conversion. yucca valley’s seen enough – michael montano goes airmail … special delivery into double coverage for michael nicholson …that’s just a dude makin a play. sets up bert alvarez who breaks thru a crowd on the run and rolls all the way down to the golden eagle 2 yard line, befor being pulled down. finished off by junior brent murphy… that would ice it for the trojans. yucca valley picks up a clutch — almost surprising road win at d-h-s. trojans win 27-19. sorry no verbatim “…still be in the game.” transition to golf in the desert
