Former First Lady Laura Bush To Visit Coachella Valley

Former First Lady Laura Bush will give the keynote address at Desert Christian Academy?s 21st Annual Auction Gala, school leaders announced on Wednesday.

The dinner and auction serves as the school?s primary source of scholarship funding for families in need. Each year, the school in Bermuda Dunes provides financial assistance to approximately 75 percent of its families, allowing the school?s impact to reach all families in the community.

The event is scheduled for March 5.

?We are thrilled that the former First Lady will be visiting Desert Christian Academy,? said Dave Fulton, founder of the school. ?Her rare combination of faith, generosity of spirit, and devotion to education dovetail perfectly with DCA?s mission: helping students to grow to their potential spiritually, academically, physically and socially.?
