Big Rig Collision Launches Water Rescue In Blythe Canal

One person was transported to the hospital on Friday after a big rig truck collided with another car sending the truck into a canal, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at 9:40 a.m. near the intersection of County Road C/D and the 10000 block of 6th Ave.

Cal Fire crews launched a swift water rescue to get the driver who was standing on the roof of the car.

He was transported via ambulance for assessment, but didn’t complain of any injuries, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The driver of the sedan involved was not injured.
