Brian Setzer Cancels Tonight’s Show In Rancho Mirage

Kool and the Gang will replace the Brian Setzer Orchestra at tonight’s concert at Agua Caliente Casino Resort and Spa because Setzer has a foot infection.

Tickets for the Brian Setzer Orchestra be honored for the Kool and the Gang concert, which will begin at 9 p.m., said the resort’s Therese Everett- Kerley.

“Having Kool and the Gang is just our way of saying we’re sorry for the inconvenience,” Kerley said.

The Brian Setzer Orchestra will play at a later date, and tickets bought for tonight’s show will be honored.

Setzer said in a statement that “the last thing I want to do is cancel a show,” but his medical issues left him with no choice. He said his foot started swelling on Christmas Day and he was unable to walk.

“I am confined to the couch and it has since gotten worse, I am so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused,” said Setzer, who also cancelled a New Year’s Eve show in Sacramento. “I have played many shows with the flu and other such ailments, but I can’t take this one lightly.”
