Another Frosty Night In Store For Palm Springs Area

The mercury is expected to plunge tonight across the Inland Empire, ushering in what’s sure to be a chilly — and possibly frosty — new year.

According to the National Weather Service, a frost advisory is in effect from 11 Friday night to 9 Saturday morning, with temperatures expected to dip as low as 20 degrees.

Residents are advised to cover or move sensitive outdoor plants inside. Growers were also advised to implement protective measures.

Forecasters predicted light winds and clear skies into Saturday.

According to the weather service, a storm system will move into the area Sunday, possibly producing rain showers. Forecasters warned about potential rock- and mudslides in the mountain areas.
