Deputies Nab Teenager Accused Of Robbing La Quinta WalMart

Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a hold-up at the WalMart in La Quinta on Tuesday.

Employees of the store called police shortly after 3 p.m. to report the robbery. They said a man stole merchandise and brandished a knife when he was confronted by two store security workers. He then ran off with the merchandise.

No one was injured.

Two detectives in the area found a man fitting the suspect’s description at a bus stop near Highway 111 and Adams Street. WalMart security personnel arrived at the bus stop, and made a positive identification.

Alexander Fisher, 18, of Bermuda Dunes, was taken into custody, and booked in the Indio Jail for armed robbery.
