Fire Contained At Moreno Valley Hospital Emergency Room

Authorities evacuated an emergency room at the Kaiser-Permanente Hospital in Moreno Valley on Thursday morning.

Fire crews arrived at the medical center at around 11 a.m. on Iris Avenue to find smoke coming from the building.

Nine people were taken to other hospitals for continuing treatment not related to the fire.

The fire was contained to a control room on the first floor of the hospital.

Hospital administrators decided to evacuate the emergency room as a precaution, although one hospital employee is being treated for minor smoke inhalation..
