Riverside County Announces New Registrar Of Voters

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors announced the hiring of a new Registrar of Voters on Tuesday.

County Executive Bill Luna announced Kathi Verjil will return to the county to take the position, having served as deputy registrar in years prior.

Most recently, Verjil comes from San Bernardino County where she held the position of Registrar.

Verjil takes the place of Barbara Dunmore who was fired after the vote count in the November elections stretched for weeks.

Verjil left the Riverside County Registrar of Voters Office in 2005 after working there for 13 years.

“Kari’s knowledge about Riverside County’s operations is a major advantage,” Luna said. “That background, coupled with her experience leading the registrar’s office in San Bernardino County, made Kari a clear choice.”

She will begin her duties in Riverside County on Feb. 24.

“I am excited to return to Riverside County, where I began my career with the Registrar of Voters,” Verjil said. “My priorities include a top-to-bottom review of the department, improving communication and continuing to conduct successful, accurate elections for Riverside County voters.”
