Man Pleads Guilty To Shooting Riverside County Deputy In Face
A man suspected of shooting a Riverside County sheriff’s investigator in the face has pleaded guilty to attempted murder of a peace officer.
Javier Trani, 22, faces 15 years to life in prision when he is sentenced on Friday.
Trani was accused of shooting the deputy after a dispute near Desert Hot Springs in the Dos Palmas area in Sept. of 2008. He was found the following morning hiding out in a house near the shooting.
The deputy who was shot suffered a broken nose and jaw, and survived.
