Police Search For Suspect, Stolen Truck In Cathedral City Carjacking

Cathedral City police were searching for a stolen truck on Thursday after three separate drivers told police a man threatened them at knife-point.

All three said they were confronted by the man in the large shopping center parking lot located along the 31500 block of Date Palm Drive, at the intersection of Baristo, around 10:45 p.m.

The first two drivers were able to get away from the man before he succeeded in taking the third victim’s vehicle.

The suspect was described as 30 years old, 5 ft. 6 in. tall, 180-200 lbs. and dark eyes. The victims told police he was wearing a tan short sleeve shirt, black pants and had tattoos on his right arm. He was last seen driving a tan 2004 Nissan Frontier crew cab with a roof rack. It had California license plate 7N63780.
