Indio Police Search For Armed Robbery Suspect

A gunman who robbed an Indio gas station remained at large today.

The man robbed the Desert Shell Gas Station, 43411 Monroe St., about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, according to Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.

“The suspect pointed a handgun at the employee demanding the money from the cash register,” Guitron said. “The employee complied with the suspect’s demands and the suspect then left the business.”

Police described the man as 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds with blond hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing black sunglasses, a black beanie, a black shirt with a white shirt underneath, black pants and white shoes, Guitron said.

Anyone with information was asked to call Indio police at (760) 391-4057.
