Rancho Mirage Man Arrested After Bullet Shot Through Gym Window

A Rancho Mirage man was arrested on Sunday after a witness said he saw him shoot a rifle at a window inside the Sunrise Country Club.

Riverside County sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene at around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday where they found David Retenski inside his home. Investigators had responded to witnesses who said they saw Retenski shoot one round from his rifle through the window of the community’s gym, located at 71-601 Country Club Dr. in Rancho Mirage.

Retenski’s reasons for firing off the round were not known. He was taken into custody and booked at the Indio jail.
