Missing Palm Desert Man Found

A 19-year-old insulin-dependent diabetic, who left his Palm Desert home without his medication, was located Tuesday afternoon at a Palm Springs park and appeared to be in good condition, police said.

John Sutherland, who had been missing since Sunday afternoon, was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for evaluation, Palm Springs police Officer Rhonda Long said.

He was found “hanging out at Sunrise Park,” adjacent to Ramon Road, at 1:50 p.m., Long said.

Sutherland left his family’s Catalina Way home on foot at 1:49 p.m. Sunday, prompting his family to file a missing persons report later that day when he failed to return, said sheriff’s Sgt. Robert Brooker.
